Kelly Helms, LISW-CP
Kelly Helms is a dedicated mental health professional with deep roots in South Carolina. She relocated to Columbia to pursue her education at the University of South Carolina, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the College of Social Work.
Since 1997, Kelly has been actively engaged in advancing mental health services throughout the state. She served for over a decade as the South Carolina Coordinator for the Midlands region of Postpartum Support International. Her clinical training includes Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) through the Albert Ellis Institute in New York City and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through the EMDR Institute, Inc. She is also certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I).
Kelly provides individual therapy to adults experiencing a range of emotional and psychological challenges, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, panic, intrusive memories, and sleep disturbances.
In addition to her clinical work, Kelly is a certified parenting trainer, offering individualized sessions focused on positive parenting strategies. She is also a certified yoga instructor and integrates a mindfulness-based approach into her therapeutic practice, supporting holistic mental and emotional well-being.
